To answer your last question... I don't know, probably barely any of them. Yeah if you count each guitar game on each console, you'd pass 33 by now, and if you're talking about the controllers being absolutely necessary, the guitar controllers win because I think most Balance Board games use it optionally. But if you're talking about the controllers being absolutely necessary, but not counting guitar games 4 times each for being multiplat, I think Wii MotionPlus might take the cake from the B-Board. You sure as hell can't play Wii Sports Resort without it. |
I'm not talking about counting each port of the rhythm games. I'm talking about understanding that while the BB is important on the Wii, the guitar controllers are an important part of the makeup of four different consoles, and in the case of the Wii and PS2, are especially important as far as third party titles are concerned.
Regarding Motion Plus, you may be right in the future, but I feel we're going to get more along the lines of an optional upgrade in the game like we've seen thus far in every Motion Plus game not named Wii Sports Resort. However, as M+ takes off and rhythm games taper off eventually, I can see it being a far more important peripheral a few years from now. Definitely not the Balance Board though. Outside of a few games that really understand the peripheral, it'll be relegated to a parlor trick in games that neither require it, nor use it particularly well in those short instances you can use one.
