You're not making sense. Of course sites don't include the 360 as a DVD player. The DVD hardware market is in it's twilight and 99.9% of people that play a DVD would obviously play it on a standard consumer DVD player. That's a no brainer.
Also, the PS3 is a DVD player too. Whilst we are at it, so is the PS2, so is the Xbox 1. It's just a silly point to say hardware reports do not include the 360 as a DVD player.
Now, to include the PS3 as a BD player is different. Some reports do. Some don't. The DEG link clearly shows that the PS3 is included, however, we know how many PS3's are out there so it is fairly simple to do the subtraction and know what the standalone BD sales are. They are increasing rapidly. To include the PS3 as a BD player is different because the BD market is in it's infancy (not it's twilight) and it's obvious to anyone that the PS3 has a huge impact on that market. It will not as time goes by.
Furthermore, to include the PS3 as a BD player opens up unsustainable arguments about whether people use the PS3 as their primary BD player. I can give arguments for and against.
I do know this - the PS3 is still rated as one of the best BD players, certainly one of the best for value, on the market. It's pretty logical that people will buy the PS3 for different reasons. Some will use it 99% of the time as a games console. A few will use it 99% of the time as a BD player. I think many use it for both. Problem is we don't know.
I do know the DEG link shows that BD movie sales have increased dramatically in 2009. Who cares what they are playing them on?

Yes BluRay is up. 66%. But it's overall marketshare is now only 4% in software sales.Compared to 76% DVD and 10% for DD.
