That stinks, I'm sorry, it sounds like you've been really unlucky. That should be a 360 stat, 3 rrods in 2 1/2 years. Do you have your PS3 in an enclosed cabinet? Does it collect a lot of dust in the air vents? Is it the same PS3 that has been repaired 2 times before?
Mine is out in the open and collects a little bit of dust, but I use a can of compressed air to blow it out.
I'm still running my original 60GB launch PS3 from day 1. Only modification is I swapped out the hard drive for a larger 320GB one.
If mine ever fails, rather then send it away and lose it for a replacement, I'm going to place it up on a shelf and make it a trophy. lol. I'm too attached to lose it because I spent 44 hours before it went on sale on launch day camping outside of a Circuit City. I was #10 out of a shipment of 12. Was almost going to sell it for $1500 on ebay at the time, but I became too attached from my camping effort. In retrospect I should have sold it and bought one again a month or two later when they were much easier to find.
So if mine ever fails now I'll just buy a Slim.
(Note: I'm never camping out for anything again! That was my first and last time... and not worth the risk. Someone got stabbed outside a Best Buy not too far from where I was. The worst incident we had was someone came by and threw eggs and was speeding through the parking lot and nearly got into an accident driving out.)
