I'd recommend against using the word "fag." It's very offensive. "Homosexual," "queer," and "gay" are all better choices.
OT: Among younger people (my age), yeah you often have your sexuality questioned when you listen to particular kinds of music such as pop (Lady Gaga for ex) and techno. When people actually grow up though, they no longer judge others based on the music they listen to.
