Lol alright I can see that this thread has switched gears to actual DUIs instead of its intended subject. One thing about this that has always bothered me is that there are many people out there who have driven drunk at least once in their life, yet are so quick to judge people who have gotten caught. I'm no saint, I know that, but I'm not some fucked up criminal who committed a crime against humanity either. I went to jail, payed the fines, and went to classes. It sucked but that's just the way it is. So to all of you who are so hellbent on calling me an "idiot" or saying that what I did was inexcusable, it was a MISTAKE. And if I was the only one in the car at the time I would not have even gotten the DUI in the first place. So please, shut the hell up and stop being so damn judgemental about my character.

I realize I'm only 20 and still very immature, but I'm not asking for sympathy here, just your opinions on parenting.

I'm sorry, but what were you expecting? You made a thread detailing 2 crimes you have committed (Drink driving and driving with a suspended licence) and also how you've disrespecting your parents rules whilst living in their house by throwing two parties that they clearly were not happy about. Then you complain about them taking your keys away and not letting you drive with a suspended licence, as though the £1,450 fine wasn't enough to let you know you can't drive with a suspended licence. Were you expecting positive replies from everyone?

Hell no, but I certainly wasn't expecting this mass amount of elitist jerks acting like they're better than me because of a mistake I made. I guess it was a mistake on my part to expect any sort of respectful answers from people as 'saintly' and 'divine' as yourselves. Give me a break. People love to point out others mistakes, but seldom, if ever, learn to work through their own.

Yes the DUI in itself was bad, but it is silly to sit there and judge me because I got popped for driving on a suspended license. All I was doing was driving, I wasn't putting anyone at higher risk of death than anyone else on the road. I didn't have anything illegal in the car, and the town that I live in in California makes it incredibly impractical to bike or use public transportation.
