| loves2splooge said: I just checked the Cheap Ass Gamer's forums Canadian section and they recommend that importing from the states is the cheapest way to get XBL Gold cards (there is an American member there that can hook us up apparently). Why does it always seem like Canadians get the short end of the stick on gaming deals? The cheapest I've seen xbox live gold on a canadian store: $47.99 for 12 + 1 months. The Canadian dollar is also very strong these days (1 Canadian dollar = 96 cents US) so that excuse doesn`t work. Charging $60 Canadian MSRP for live gold is absolute madness. |
I'm with you man, it's hard to find good XBL deals in Canada. I ended up getting a decent deal last year on the Live Starter Pack with another headset, chatpad and PGR4 for $60 from Amazon once my free month was up so that wasn't too bad, but this year (well, February I think?) I'm not sure what to do yet. I'm considering just letting it lapse, unless a sweet deal comes up over the holiday sales season, and focusing on my single player game collection and cleaning up missing achievements lol.
I also get mad that the $20 points cards in the states are 1600 points and ours are only 1400, regardless of where the dollar is (80 points per USD vs. 70 points per CDN). Hopefully it stays high over the holidays so retailers start matching prices on games and whatnot again like they did last time when the dollar was at parity or above.
