Yeah but besides the hardware failures, the 360 is an improvement in every way from the original Xbox. And wholikeswood is right; really the Xbox's only saving grace was Halo. The 360 not only has Halo but it introduced other great series like Gears of War, Left 4 Dead, and Mass Effect. I don't think anybody who likes the original Xbox better could possibly have a valid reason for it (unless their 360 red ringed or something)

You may not have cared for what the original Xbox offered, but don't project your own tastes onto everyone else. There are numerous potential reasons to prefer the original Xbox, particularly if you keep its timeframe in mind. Some examples:

Xbox Live was a true pioneer last generation, offering an online service unlike anything available before on consoles. It had no real competition during the entire generation. This generation, Xbox Live has certainly continued to improve greatly, and may still the best overall - but Sony has been copying it steadily, and PSN now offers a viable (and free) alternative.

Easily the best console versions of multiplatform games, throughout the entire generation. The 360 also enjoyed this advantage at the start of this generation, but now the PS3 versions have mostly caught up.

For Sega fans, the original Xbox offered some incredible and unique exclusives - Jet Set Radio Future, GunValkyrie, and Panzer Dragoon Orta from Smilebit. The games may not be for everyone, but their fans love them. The 360 has nothing like them.

Incredible support from Team Ninja. Most fans consider Dead or Alive 3 to be the pinnacle of the series. Dead or Alive Ultimate was one of the original pioneers for online fighting games. Ninja Gaiden Black has quite a few supporters who consider it the pinnacle of its entire genre. Team Ninja's 360 support didn't compare, and the team is now fractured.

Knights of the Old Republic was the game that firmly established the WRPG genre on consoles. Many consider it better than Mass Effect, too.

Halo was a new, original series on the original Xbox. Halo 3 is great, but it doesn't have the same freshness anymore.

Stellar racing games. The Project Gotham Racing series offers a unique experience, and PGR2 is widely considered the best in the series. (And one of the best racing games ever.) Rallisport Challenge 2 still has a vocal fanbase to this day. (Forza Motorsport also offered a viable alternative to Gran Turismo, even if it wasn't quite able to match it.)

Sure, you can easily pick apart every one of those as being irrelevant to you personally. But they're all valid reasons someone could prefer the original Xbox. One other thing - the original Xbox's library is rated significantly higher than the 360's, on both Metacritic and GameRankings.
