Try another burning program?
1. Download Infrarecorder

2. Insert CD
3. Press "Burn to CD" on Infrarecorder's top bar
4. Select your .iso
5. Burn.
If that doesn't work,

Windows installer for Ubuntu. It's not pure, because you can't remove Windows and you can't dist-upgrade, but it'll work without a CD.
