Where is the proof of this? Remember they would also have to print the 3rd disk as well as manufacturing it. |
it is more expensive to produce the disc when you add more layer's
remember a BD 25 is a single layer DISC that is much cheaper to manuf. than a disc with more layer's
example:
There are currently 4 different recordable Blu-ray Disc formats: BD-R 25 (write once, single-side, single-layer, 25GB),BD-R 50 (write once, single-side, dual-layer, 50GB), BD-RE 25 (rewritable, single-side, single-layer, 25GB) and BD-RE 50 (rewritable, single-side, dual-layer, 50GB). The Blu-ray BD-R write-once format makes use of an inorganic material in the recording layer, entirely different from the organic dye used in previous types of write once formats. Because the recording layer is not easily damaged by light, blu ray discs have outstanding archivability.
so EXAMPLE online blank media cost to the consumer
to buy blank:
A SINGLE BD-25 = $6.99
A SINGLE BD-50 = $25.99
