Just wanted to point out Mircosoft did this to save their own ass, and not out of loyalty/charity to the customer! Otherwise they could have been looking at a full recall of the product!

yea not to say it was not mostly PR based.., I know, but they did indeed eat the cost so from a consumer perspective it is indeed a good thing. not to say it was the right thing to me they should have had a recall like the auto industry does with known fault's in car's. but still Microsoft did offer a solution to the consumer an to me I would not fault Microsoft for that.

The fact that Microsoft did is a good thing no matter what :
