@ both: A dev trying to account for less than expected sales can easily blame piracy, however there is no clear evidence that a pirated copy means a lost sale, in the same way that people who have dozens of DS games on R4's probably wouldnt have bought anywhere near that many in reality, because people are constrainted by money. according to the article you posted there are 260 million pc gamers and i fail to see why games on pc sell less than games on consoles. that also doesnt change the fact that you said crysis 2 was developed for consoles cause they want to license cryengine 3 when they are acctually making crysis 2 on consoles due to piracy issues on pc and their game topping the charts of pirated games. Crytek is supposebly a great pc developer that pushes pc to its limit and it complains about piracy.
