Pros

  • Charming art style
  • Level editor
  • community

Cons

  • Platforming isn't anything special
  • The SIXAXIS support is annoying as all Hell
  • finding good levels in the community is a chore

Once you get past the fantastic art style of the game, Little Big Planet is nothing more than an average platformer at best.

7.8

Whoops, missed the voting is closed pst -_-

You mean Sixaxis to wobble the sackperson? Or to slap another? Why is it annoying? I only use it to dance around when completing a level. I don't think it's got any other applications?

Finding good levels is a chore? Why not go to the top rated section? Or most played levels? The best are always there. Also, once you find the great publishers, its always easy to find other levels that they've made.

I like to play my games lying down, usually on my back.  That means the controller isn't held level, it's held facing down.  That means my sackboy is always looking down and it's just annoying.  It would be a simple option to turn it off and it bothers me that it wasn't there.

And I haven't played this game since probably February I believe but last time I was on the community level page I did just what you suggested and when I found something that wasn't a trophy whore level or an incredibly boring music level, it was just a bad level or a bad level with a fun theme (like the Ghostbusters levels I found^^).  It may be different now but when I played it, like I said, finding a good level was a chore and wading through the crap wasn't worth the rare good community level.

Also a note, I don't know if you're offended that I gave it a 7.8 but I consider anything a 7+ a good game and realize that games can be rated something besides 90+ even if I like them.

Wasn't arguing about the vote (though I personally rate it as much higher). I was mostly surprised at the Sixaxis comment - what you said though somehow makes sense although it does not impact on gameplay.

Your point on level search is also fair. Though once you get to the best publishers (Poms is my favourite) its hard to go wrong.
