I can only speak for what happens in California, but all they really do is charge you up the ass for it. In that sense, I think the parents should let him drive if he is willing to risk having those charges. Part of becoming an adult is making big decisions like that for yourself, and it seems like the parents are holding him back from doing this. |
I would agree with you on this point, but you also have to remember, the parents have to pick up the pieces, they are driving him everywhere, and charging him a mere pittance for rent. What I would do if I was his parent is give him a choice. He could either continue to live under my roof and live by my rules. OR he can do what he wants, in which case, I would kick him out, and promise him that I would not be there to bail him out or drive him to work if he got caught again.
