that was actually quite normal if the person is not into console gaming and don't frequent gaming associated media. I had a couple of funny conversations with my friends regarding my PSP.
I was on the train with my friend and I took out my PSP
Friend: don't you already own a PS3??
Me: yeah, and??
Friend: then why did you buy a PSP??
Me: *scratches head* why not?? I want to play the game.
Friend: but you already have a PS3???
Me: so what???
Friend: the games are the same.
Me: whaaaaa???
Another friend bought SF4 for his PC
Friend: get SF4 man.
Me: can't, too expensive.
Friend: wouldn't it only cost you 20 bucks???
Me: what are you talking about, it costs well over 50.
Friend: but didn't you tell me that used games on your PSP only cost you 20 bucks??
Me: er............
