I am going to have to disagree.
I have played through Gears 2 about three times as well as all of horde mode and it was definitely the highlight of my gaming year in 2008.....I will never forget sitting by the Christmas tree last December playing through horde mode and the co op campaign with my buddies. It was/is an awesome game and deserves all the accolades it got. I can't wait for Gears 3--it will be a day 1 purchase for me.
HOWEVER--If you don't think that Uncharted 2 is a drastic improvement graphically over Gears 2, you simply haven't spent much time with the game. The only other game I have played in my life that has better graphics than Uncharted 2 is probably Crysis, which was more of CryEngine 2 showcase than a fully fleshed out game. (as you may be able to tell, I thought Crysis was about 90% eye candy and about 10% substance. If you played the demo, you pretty much played the whole game.)
As others have said, you really can't compare it to games like GT5 or Forza 3 because the focus in those games graphics-wise is on the cars themselves. The surrounding environment is simply not that important. The first thing you will notice about Uncharted 2 is that the CGI cut scenes look absolutely amazing and then you get control of your character and realize that the in-game graphics are identical. It's simply a beautiful looking game whether we're talking PC or consoles, and graphically, I think it dwarfs any of the 360 exclusives I have played. I also think that in general it is one of the best games I have every played. Possibly number 2 behind Half Life 2.
