Yeah, that's a good point. Costs to develop games increased alot (except on Wii), but the price of games is slightly lower. The first thing game companies did from this is go out of business. The ones that remained brought in things like DLC to to increase the price of games without actually seeming like they did. (or they turn to downloadable only games to cut down costs)
2nd hand game sales have been around for ever, the only reason a big deal has been made of it now is because devs never used to care because their bottom line was doing fine. notice how it's only the companies that put most of their effort in the PS360 that complain about 2nd hand game sales.
