Look just admit you committed a faux pas in forgetting that Gunpei Yokoi's career was ended by a tragic car accident and that you made an unwitting allusion to it, then we can all be on our way.

OK, I know what this is about it's the "window seat" thing. This is a complete misunderstanding. When Gunpei Yokoi's Virtual Boy failed Nintedo gave him a "window-seat" job where he could not make anymore decisions and they basically ignored him. It's some sort of japanese tradition I think.

Yes. And it's a car allusion, which is not appropriate for Mr. Yokoi. He was not given a lesser position - he resigned after the failure of the Virtual Boy.

Again: you made an unwitting allusion to his untimely death, which drew parallels with a possible untimely death of Mr. Miyamoto. This is an immense faux pas. Just say you made the mistake and I guarantee that you will be left alone.

Edit: He was actually in the passenger's seat that day, which makes the allusion even worse.
