Actually ToV got 79, LO 78 on metacritic (Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata also got 79 btw. It's the Square Enix games, Enchanted Arms and ATLUS SRPGs that scored a good bit lower). Among video game reviewers, 79s and 78s isn't much critical acclaim. Especially when you consider the fact that these fanboy reviewers indiscriminately throw 100s to blockbuster games like they were candy. 78-79 should be treated like a B+ but in the video game world, marks are very inflated. No game should ever get 100. There's no such thing as perfection.
