I really wish I could give this game the 9 I think it deserves because it's really such a great experience with a great story and an amazing universe. However, as a game it fails. It would have made a better movie. It has way too many graphical glitches including lots of pop in, getting stuck in environments, and a frame rate that is perhaps the shittiest I've ever seen in any game. It slows to a crawl sometimes when no action is going on and your just walking! Side missions are bland, copy and paste, lifeless and boring. Driving missions are tedious, control bad and just not fun. Combat doesn't fare much better. It's slow, clunky, and has terrible aiming controls and I don't ever use powers in the game because they are such a pain in the ass to use. You should be able to hotkey powers or something. The system in place is just too clunky. And why is the grenade button set to the select button? Also, after playing the games a couple of times I realized that selecting different things to say has the same response which is a little lazy. Sometimes I'll pick the mean thing to say and he says the same exact things as the nice one. It really made me think my decisions didn't have anywhere near as much impact as it implies. That being said, ME 2 is one of my most wanted games. It really looks like they've worked hard to make the sequel a good game and not just a rich universe wasted on bad presentation and design. I really hope when the sequel comes out it can go along with all of my other favorite games of this gen where it belongs.
