Actually the original context refers to Spain. Again, Hispanic isn't a race. It is an Ethnic/Linguistic group. Hispania= Iberia = Spain + Portugal + Andorra. You can be White and Hispanic at the same time. You can be black and Hispanic at the same time. You can be Native and Hispanic at the same time. Oh I agree with the European part, just not that they "aren't" Hispanic.  The funny thing about these people is, after they are proven wrong about Spaniards not being the same race as every latin american they go and try to bring up the moor inhabitants as "proof" of admixture. It is quite funny how far it has been embedded into their minds that Spanish isn't European nor "White".  It is either that group, or the ones so uneducated on geography/culture  they don't even realize that Spain isn't in Mexico. I actually have heard the question "Why is it called Spanish and not Mexican" brought up before.
