Main game : 9/10 Interesting gameplay, great story, good interaction, exciting environments, one of the best rpgs this gen.
Sidequests 4/10. I have NEVER seen such disparity in quality between the main game and sidequests. Every single planet was exactly the same with a different color pallet, most of the buildings were identical, and most of the sidequests had you doing the same thing over and over again.
Total: 8/10, sidequests brought it down. tons of glitches, framerate issues, pop in, etc.
Hope Mass Effect 2 takes the amazing main quest and spreads it to the side quests.
Edit: I should also add, with all the different models of weapons and different types, (same with armor) no weapon really felt unique, and since they grew on trees (I had 20+ Avenger 9s or w/e by the end of the game), you never feel like you earned a weapon. If they cut out about 50% of the weapons and made them more diverse, I would be a lot happier.
