That's not really fair since even many of the people that have praised him do so after having only played one his games or series. How many people here are basing their judgement on MGS4 and/or maybe one more title in the series as opposed to how many people are basing their judgement on Snatcher, Policenauts, all 5 MGS games, both Zone of the Enders titles and Lunar Knights?

Those same people didn't make a bold statement saying that Kojima: "wasn't anything special" either. That's what I was getting at.

Why would a person praising Kojima say "wasn't anything special"? My point was that snap judgements on his talent can be made in a positive manner after having only played a title or two from him, so I don't see how it's different that someone would have a snap judgement negatively based on playing a single game of his. In any case, it's the snap judgements that shouldn't be encouraged, not whether they are negative or positive about Kojima.
