They didn't but they did point out delays in the game, from 2003 to 2005. Isn't it the same situation as it is now with GT5? Word play from delay to "ready to be released at anytime" is just semantics, both were used without any kind of official release date, so it's mostly us fans getting our hopes up for the game without official confirmation.
Also I never said that this situation didn't bother me, it does as I've stated before, because I rather would've liked this game to come sooner, but knowing PD, they are just making sure that the game will be as any bit good as they want. Most people probably will be annoyed, but me, afters years of having to wait a long ass time for games, especially S-E to come to EU land, by now I consider myself to be a more patient kind of gamer which gives the benefit of the doubt to the developers.
