If you look at the original DQX announcement topic, a lot members heavely suggest that those kind of games would eventually be announced for the Wii

I went through that thread again to refresh my memory. A few weren't just saying that the Wii would recieve more RPGs, but greater Japanese support in general. In that thread and elsewhere people have talked about a shift to Wii development by third parties. 10 months after the announcement of DQX, this clearly isn't the case yet.

It's interesting though. I feel sorry for those making these sweeping generational predictions. This gen has been a tough one to predict.

you do get the fact that games aren't made in one night, right? considering the fact that except huge games like Metal Gear Solid, FF or Dragon Quest most japanese games are announced 3-4 months before release. we will get a lot of announcements in the first half of 2010 and later on - it takes time to make quality title.

and to all who believe that Bumpy Trot 2 is in the works. the game was only announced in 2006 and that pretty much all we know about the game. but hey if this count than 360 have:

Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Absolute Blazing Infinity, Infinite Undiscovery, MagnaCarta 2, Diario: Rebirth Moon Legend, Last Remnant, Far East of Eden Ziria: Tales from Distant Jipang, Blue Dragon 2, Lost Odyssey 2 - and i wasn't even looking through some shady romurs and announcements so i probably missed few "games".

Magna Carta II was announced in 2005.  Up until five months ago, people thought it was vaporware, much like Bumpy Trot 2 now.

Japanese devs tend to keep a low profile, especially the smaller ones.  It wouldn't be surprising to see BT2 suddenly re-emerge and release within the next year.  The fact that they haven't bothered to take the site down implies that it is still in the works.
