This tragic, sickening, event, happened just a couple miles from my house...

Hey Youre a mod ! congratz

OT : You would know more about it right ? How is the kid ?

How can someone (specially a kid) set someone on fire and laugh about it ? He'll turn out to be a serial killer when he grows up...

Yeah who's sick enough for thinking of stuff like that. My bet is that the kid has a kratos ripping a head off signature when he goes on online forums.

(with all the stupid gore and limb cutting put in movies and games nowadays, are you really surprised kids find it funny to set aflame someone?)

Seriously. Not to mention they are taught that they come from an ape like ancestor.

No we are taught that we are Primates, which we are. That basically means, we are apes in a present form, not that we are descended from one. We may have the same ancestors as other Great Apes, but that doesn't mean we came from an Ape either. It is similar to people having the same Ancestor(parent, grandparent, etc). Just because they have a common ancestor doesn't mean that one comes from the other. Do brothers come from their sisters? Do cousins come from eachother? Of course not, they come from their common ancestor.  How about before criticizing something, actually learn about it next time. Even then, I doubt they lit him on fire because they thought they were Apes. *sighs*

On topic: This is definately not anything new. I don't see why people are referring to "now" as being any more horrible than 100 years ago, or 1,000 years ago. I agree that there is cultural degeneration in the United States, but I do NOT think it is what is causing these misbehaviors. Anyway, I'm sorry for him, but maybe this will teach him to hang out with better people.  Actually, he probably would have either chosen to do, or pressured to do the same thing if he was an associate with them. To be honest, I know very little of the situation to form an opinion. So I'm definately not going to set my comments in stone. Maybe I'm wrong and he was a good kid with the wrong crowd, but from the information given to me, it doesn't seem like that at all.
