I have both consoles, and exclusive PS3 games have tremendous graphics, so does exclusive 360 games. Multiplatfom games are generally 95% of the time superior on the 360 for graphics and/or framerate/anti aliasing, etc.
So you could basically choose without looking at graphics.
I'd say get both to enjoy all the games because whether it's 360 or PS3, you have a long list of games you're interested in. But do start with the 360 because you'll be playing with your friends right away (and it might save you some bucks because once you start playing the same few games with your friends online, you don't really want to buy other games coz you know you don't have much time to play theM)
