I disagree with just about everything you wrote.  If enough customers do not want digital distribution then physical media will still be around.  I particularly hate the 'it's the future, whether you like it or not' attitude-- sorry, but that is not how the world works.  If enough people do not like something, then it will not happen (in this case, 100% DD-- I see a future where both exist, but not soley retail and not soley DD).

You also have a very interesting idea of what the future will be.  I don't see that happening, ever.  People will shun material wealth for persuit of 'god' or perfection because money/material posses do not make people happy?  As my father said-- "I'm happier now then when I was a poor grad student.  If money can't buy happyness it can at least rent it for a very, very long time."

If Videogames and anime are leading us into a 'golden age', then I want no part of it.  I don't like what the video game industry is trying to shove down our throats with things such as DD (and if your cloud processing future were to occur with videogames, I would stop playing games-- and I am willing to bet that millions would to.  Several people want to own their games, not rent them.)   As for anime-- I have seen several anime shows and I have yet to find any artistic or entertainment value in any that I have watched.

I am also curious, how does entertainment fit into your world?  Isn't that the point of videogames and anime, to entertain?  When videogames and anime are proclaimed by most as 'good' and having 'value' and has stood the test of time (like the statue 'David' or 'The Mono Lisa') then we can talk about how videogames and anime are art and not just entertainment.
