IGN gave MagnaCarta II 6.8. Erik Brudvig reviewed.

I already knew the story was cliche jrpg fare. It doesn't surprise me when I see cookie-cutter stuff like this anymore. I'm more concerned about what he says about the gameplay. He basically says it gets boring after awhile. That's a red flag for me. A lot of jrpgs have been unable to hold my attention/interest these days. The combat sounds very repetitive too. So basically the whole point is to chain over and over again? For 40+ hours, I'd go insane if that was pretty much all there was to it. I know a lot of people hate Erik Brudvig but I don't think his 360 jrpg reviews are unfair (I haven't played The Last Remnant though. He didn't like that). From the scores he's given out on the 360 ones at least, I would say he's pretty fair when it comes to judging jrpgs. Most critics are definitely harsher on the genre than he is.
