Yeah, I agree with the root post. I've always felt that religion needs to stay out of politics or be taxed. It's far too intertwined as things are now, and this marriage issue is just one way in which that is so. Admittingly, I'm not hung up on the word "marriage", as I recognize its religious roots. But I do not feel that the government has a right to discriminate against 2 legally consenting people from getting legally united, which, as things stand now, is what they are doing.
