The author explained that each Tales game and Each Final Fantasy game (Except the X and VII spinoffs) can stand up as their own games with their own identity. Which is why they were excluded from the list, because they are not sequels of each other, just different games, characters, universes under the same banner

So everything Nintendo, Kojima etc has to do is switch characters and tweak the universe a little and everything is fine. Wow, that will save them some time and money!
