Actually I maxed all social links at my first play. It's quite possible, you'll have to make a tight schedule, and don't waste any time wandering through the dungeons, other than one day to find the missing person + any bonus dungeon you have left behind.
It's a risky approach, especially if you use a lot of SP attacks since you'll be left SP drained at the early stages of exploration, but it pays off at the end ;) Thanks to that, now on my second playthrough I now have Izanagi-no-Okami and have defeated both the Reaper and...you know who xD
