well considering the ps3's price was reduced by 300 or half the original amount after only 3 years, anything is possible.

i doubt MS would cut the arcade to $99 anytime before 2011 though, if they do then it's going to sell like a million every week.

 

They can't do that. 

There's been barely any kind of major motherboard optimizations so they just save on the silicon and only when they hit a new node.

Speaking of which, their foundry has had a reliable 45nm process for quite some time already and yet there's not even a rumor about a new revision. Maybe the valhalla rumors were true - that kind of operation takes quite some more time than just hitting a new node.
