Correction his Maelstroms blogs are not his articles. His blogs are opinion his articles are interpretations. His blogs are often prone to his biased opinions where as his articles are based on someone else's work, but still have his perspective application.
Yes i'm aware of the site saying Maelstrom Article News, but as I said his personal comments are just as prone to fanboy bias(PC orientated). Though I do enjoy his reads I find some of them are already mistaken before he posts. Much like his User Generated Content opinions.
He has some valid points though
"If the “Game Industry” was healthy, then why is there so much need to increase revenue from individual games? A healthy industry should have revenue raining from above.
The “Game Industry” is in a conservation mode with trying to carve out more revenue from their existing and shrinking sales. It is like a someone trying to ration out their food instead of working to make more food.
The “Game Industry” must seek to expand and make new customers. If not, it will surely die.
"
Also he made a point in one of his actual articles. "Retail is still King". Until an online computer is the equivalent penetration of the personal phone(home or cell only bachelors) the DD model will never make it as the sole model. The reason the iPhone works is because there is no and never was a cell phone software retail market.
The DSi is making some success with DSi ware, because the DSL managed to some serious penetration that it was only a next step. The PSP while a nice device didn't make the same penetrion, but Sony only hoped to it would work.
Finally DD is working PC because PC is now essentially an internet gateway. If you have a PC it could be almost guaranteed that you are now connected to the internet. Still many PC users will prefer to buy stuff from stores.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
