I can bet you can thank the Shenmue Campaign in the Shenmue fan community for getting Ryo in this after the thousands and thousands of Toy Capsules sent directly to Sega in Japan asking for Shenmue III.
After this news they are going to try again with something different and they just won't quit with thier creative ideas and persistence.
