"The intent of Natal was to get rid of the controller"

I don't thing any video game company believes that. There is a huge potential for games without controllers and that's what Natal is intended for.

There will be a few hardcore games like racing sims for example which will allow players to use Natal instead of a pad, but that's about it. Natal for hardcore gaming will never get
further than being an option.

Agreed.  That's why I personally see more value in the Sony motion control.  Best of both worlds.  Combine Wii-mote functionality with the PS Eye.

Didn't E3 show PSeye can behave as natal?

When they had the presnotor hold sony wands it showed hid whole body moving on stage with a saber and mace.

So if they really wanted to they could easily add a function where ur body movements enact gameplay.

It showed no such thing.  The only thing the Sony Motion Controller can track is the 3D spatial coordinates of the ball at the end of the controller.  That includes things like tilt and rotation, but there is no way for the controller to know, for example, what you're legs and feet are doing in 3 dimensional space.

There is also no speech recognition or facial recognition.
