Oh, sorry but Pixar puts a lot of emotions on their movies. Wall-e is full of it. So is Finding Nemo for example.

Wall-E is, as I said, a positive exception.

Finding Nemo is, in my opinion, one the first ones that started this formula of "the same funny talking characters this time as toys/ants/cars/rats/fish, in a wacky adventure, with a basic one-liner moral added to it.

DO I need to get into prince charming - princess/girl who needs to be saved - evil witch and/or dragon - beautiful songs

Just because its cliche doesnt mean its bad

Yes, actually that would have been my next point.

Clichés are bad. By definition, they are OVERused formulas, that make you want to smash your head to the wall, because they are that boring, and predictable.

Formulas are different. Every story must rely on tropes, formulas that the audience will recognize and understand instantly.

For example, obviously the story will have some sort of protagonist, antagonist, and character archetypes,  because that's what we can relate to. The greatest stories of all time, are based on these formulas.

I didn't complain that Pixar cartoons are clichéd. They are quite the opposite, too original. All these efforts are spent on changing the setting and the actual plot, subverting the old tropes, just to be totally different from everything old for the sake of being different, while they miss the bigger picture of being in connection with thousand year old classic human interests.
