Wall-e is fine, but only because it is totally different from the general Pixar style, that I hate.
Modern animated cartoons totally lack deeper emotions, that made old Disney grand and memorable. But there is no more romance, tension, sadness, singing, cuteness, and fear, just... silliness. And even more silliness. And some parental service.
I recently watched some old Disney movies that I missed as a child, and it is definitely not just nostalgia, because they are great, too. I'm also really hyped about "The Princess and the Frog", that seems to be a traditional drawn musical, based on a classic story, with only bearable amount of silliness. |
Oh, sorry but Pixar puts a lot of emotions on their movies. Wall-e is full of it. So is Finding Nemo for example.
