The game runs native at 720p so all either of you are doing playing at 1080p is judging how good your TV's are at scaling the image up as upscaling can cause image defects. In some cases setting the 360 to 720p and let the TV do the work will produce better quality than with the 360 set to 1080p (except for 1080p native sources of course).
