GT explains its Uncharted 2 score

I wasn't there when the whole shitstorm kicked off but how did the 9.3 issue even arise in the first place?  What prompted GT to explain their score?

yep, they said that uncharted 2 didn't hit a higher score because it wasn't innovative and any other game that it's not innovative couldn't get a higher score from them, then the ps3 owners started a shitstorm because games like gears 2, halo 3, and GTAIV scored higher than 9.3 even if they didn't add anything new to the genre/games.
