FF 13 and GT5 also didn't have their entire graphics engine built already and assets from a previous game on the same platform to use. They also didn't have the gameplay fundamentals already done.

It's easier to make sequels. case in point: Gears 2, Halo ODST, Mass Effect 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2.

The game is good but not amazing (as many fans here would have you believe). U2 however, benefited with the extra development time gone to making the game better rather than creating everything from the ground up (and the reviews showed this improvement). U1 would have greatly benefited from more development time (and hopefully somethign a little longer...).

FF 13 and GT5 are much, much larger games than Uncharted (FF 13 alone is probably bigger than both games combined, and then some) and of course, will take more time to complete. I'm not trying to argue Uncharted is bad or anything, they are great, I just think you are giving ND to much credit for developing a game in 2 years.

The only time I think game development from a company has been impressively fast was with Rare an the N64, they had an excellent game out every year,all of which scoring 90+ on metacritic. 2 years, in my opinion, is not impressive. If Uncharted 2 came out when Uncharted 1 did, then I would be impressed.
