You said you didn't think it was comical.
First that he was nominatead when he'd accomplished nothing (closing down guantanamo is not nobel prize worthy... and you shouldn't be nominated for something unless you've done something worthy enough to win).
Then he won... despite the fact that his resume doesn't even come close to anyone else there.
Pardon as I'm trying to forge an appropriate sports analaogy and i'm not that familiar with New Zeland popular sports but...
It would be like the equivlent of Darren Bent being inducted into a soccer football hall of fame.
Young guy... lots of promise... but hasn't accomplishsed ANYTHING yet.
Your putting someone in the hall of fame based purely on potential.
Honestly a "retro" pick would of made more sense. They've done it before.
