| Smashed said: They really have no idea how big Gran Turismo 5 will be, do they? Lets take a look at Forza 2 and Gran Turismo 5 prologue, according to VGChartz numbers, Forza 2 sold 4M, and GT5:P Sold 3.15M, keep in mind GT5:P Isn't even a full game. SO people have called GT5:P a "demo", for a "demo" it nearly outsold a full finished game.. There is a sign right there. Whatever though, let them continue to live in happy village and mask up the reality, be my guest. |
Keep in mind GT5P was able to be DL'ed and F2 bundles > GT5p bundles. I'd say copies bought GT5p > F2 and I'd say GT5P was more profitable with. Even with selling it for less.
Forza 2 I'll be generous and say 3 million weren't bundled. It didn't even reach 2 million before bundled.
3 x 30 = 90 million.
Now I'd say 500k tops bundled for GT5p and again... generous firgure considering it was bundled in Japan for like 2 months which makes up like 250k and we know Europes policy is lots of bundles little of each. 250k bundles in EU is a lot. Hell, I'll raise it to 750k.
Polyphony says 3.90 GT5p's sold - .75 = 3.15 x 20 = 63 + .75x10 (Cut out the retailer = more profits for sony) = 70 million... 70 million for a game that was basically free to make.
