I like that Sony took a risk.
People complain about Sony "ripping off" others ideas, but then also complain or overlook when Sony goes out on a limb and does things different. Examples: Blu-Ray, Eye of Judgement, EyePet, Playstation Home, PSP Go and others.
There are probably retail factors that played into the price of the Go. Which suck, but I hope the Go stays out there and continues.
