I'm a Digital Distribution supporter, but as an OPTION, if i want to buy the game, music, movie, etc. in physical format i should be able to do so...

That being said, i think home consoles will not go digital, every time the bandwith grows, the game size grows as well, so unless bandwith wins that race bringing full retail games in less than half hour, games will still come in physical format...

My idea for a console is one that has an optical slot (BR, DVD, CD, etc.) and USB ports for multipurpose, a Flash Memory slot (propietary to avoid piracy, at least for a while) for full retail games, and Digital Distribution for all other games (indie, arcade, short, etc.)... But i don't think flash memory console games will be a reality considering the cost...

....so your idea for a console is the older model of PS3? ehehe sorry what you said reminded me of a PS3.

Jajajajajajajajajajaja, BTW, i have that model, well, the only thing that the oldest PS3 doesn't have is retail games in propietary flash memory, although, it has flash card readers XD XD

lol well would you prefer PS3 games to be on propietary flash memory? (kinda defeats the purpose of PS3 on BR lol)  I could see them putting older games like PS1 & PS2 would be nice since they dont have BWC anymore, but then again there's no more flash card readers lol.

About Blu-Ray, i am really happy that the PS3 brought Blu-Ray, i enjoy the movies that are BR-worthy (like The Dark Knight or Kingdom of Heaven), and the space for games gives to more posibillities (Like full RPGs, or amazing scenes in Metal Gear Solid, etc., i'm still hoping for a kickass open world in Rockstar's Agent), but if the mem cards cost (and i'm talking big ones like 32 and 64GB) were the same or less as Blu-Ray, i would prefer games on mem card any day... it's faster, more efficient and more reliable that optical. The thing is, if they can't put a lot of game space on a cheap memory card, it's not convenient, although your idea on older games on mem cards is interesting (if the PS3 still had those, like you said)... At least both companies came out with a quick solution for this: Installation (and i hope that PS3 some day gives the option of full installs)...

I still want that they kill the UMD in favor of memory cards on the PSP, and that's already possible and cheap on portables, but not on home consoles...
