That's the most unconvincing argument I've heard all day ;) It's not hard to come up with potential reasons: 1- Different manufacturer (Foxconn allegedly) If this turns out to be true, we'll for sure hear more about it in the next few weeks. For now, I'd say it's more likely that it's bogus or just a problem in a single batch, but who knows?

And some chips have been removed (aka Backward Compatibility)...
If this turns out to be a significant problem then it will take away a significant arguement that Sony has been using to sell the PS3... It is a luxury console that doesn't have a high failure rate...
To those naysaying that it is isolated... Thats what Microsoft starting saying for initial RRoD issues.
