Actually 7200 is what he should go for. What problems are you talking about?

the ps3 is designed to work with HDD at 5400, 7200 will not speed up anything, you just might overheat your ps3

i was also considering upgrading, think i'll go for a 320gb at 60 CHF (55$) it's really cheap nowadays
