1. Most people use PS3 as a Blu Ray player.

2. The price hindered the attach rate.

3. Sony rely too much on brand loyalty. They're stepping their game up, though.

4. MGS4 sold very well. Killzone 2 sold all right. LittleBigPlanet sold over 2 million, which is pretty good.

Most people use the PS3 as a blu-ray player? 'most people' you beleave that? haahahhaahahaha

Ok, then what if I said "a lot"? Will that make you happy?

huaxiong90,

I use my PS3 as a Blu-Ray player.  Does that mean that I cannot play games on it?   I buy and watch Blu-rays and PS3 games.

Sure, the price made it difficult for many to afford one and to buy one.  But that tune has changed and it is now only $300... Half the price it was at launch.   Neither the 360 nor the Wii have reduced their prices by a remotely similar percentage.

I think that many who have bought, or want to buy, the 360 are scared off because of the RROD numbers of faulty equipment.   You'll see a shift I believe now that the PS3 is at the $300 price point and more affordable to many.

I agree, most people do use the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player.   Also most use the PS3 as a gaming machine.  One is not mutually exclusive.

The PS3 is my favorite gaming machine this generation, don't get me wrong. But I think it's safe to say there's a good amount of people who use the PS3 strictly for its multimedia capabilities as well as a Blu Ray player, and maybe just 1 or 2 games on it. But yeah, now that it costs $299, which is the same price as a 360 elite, it should have a software sales increase for future games.
