Geez people sure have issues.
Like many others have said here the PSP Go! is for people who are interested in a DD device that is more portable then the original PSPs. While Sony still offer a device catering to those who would like both DD and UMD options so there really is nothing to hate about it. They are not dropping support of either. They are actually getting more support by the way of mini's and mainstream devs jumping back onboard the PSP.
I myself bought a PSP Go! and love every minute of it. The fact you can connect a PS3 controller to it when you lazing about at home while having your PSP Go! connected to the TV via tv out is a bonus.
I still have my PSP-1000 with my umd collection when i feel the need to revisit old games (which i doubt i will but atleast have that option).
The simple answer is this. If you already have a PSP then you dont need to worry as you are still fully supported and the Go! isnt even a must buy thought as you already have a PSP.
If your one of those that dont have a PSP well now you have 2 options. A more portable device that fits in the pocket and you dont have to lug around a bunch of UMDs OR a older model that does almost the same things as the Go but has a UMD drive and DD access.
So in the end what is there to complain about?
Want a PSP Go? then buy it
Want a PSP-3000? then buy it
Dont want either? then buy a DS or nothing.
