Had Sony released the PSPGo (or something like it) as a separate machine instead of the original PSP, there would have been much less of an outcry.
Instead, it released a device that has very little market at a price higher (admitting to evoke the early adopter fee) than what a similar machine already does (and the similar machine has features not found on the PSPGo). Plus, it is not offering a discount for digital download of software -- meaning the distribution and production costs become profit (not even shared with the consumer).
In other words, if there were no other PSP, the Go would not be a problem. But because there is, it is a not well-received machine that will be viewed as a test drive and set DD back several years for reasons that have more to do with marketing than technology.
