One of the benefits is that it's a lot smaller. You can carry it in your pocket when it's in a case. I think that's something important depending on how you plan on using it.
I think size is actually a huge feature and probably might be the deciding factor.
As a commuter I need something smaller so the PSP GO works a lot better for me. The 16 gigs is nice since I could already load it up with mp3s and movies. If you end up buying a 16 gig card, then I don't think you really save any money.
